Being Guided by Love
I have made no secret of the fact that I start my day with at least an hour of quiet time to read, pray, journal, and set my intentions for the day. Without that time, my whole day feels totally different because I have not connected first to my Guide. I started this practice when my kids were young. It wasn’t necessarily because I chose it – it was because I was being guided by Love. I had been called into a leadership position in a bible study group in which there was daily homework.God knew that I took serving seriously and that one of my biggest character traits is loyalty. To create this new habit of centering myself, I was being guided by Love.
Getting Thrown Off Course
Every time I get a little overzealous with my goals and ‘To Do’ lists, something in my life will happen to course correct me back to what is most important. And I mean every time.I’ll never forget the day that my father-in-law had a stroke. For no reason I could discern at the time, all my work appointments had canceled that day, and as hard as I tried, I could not fill the hours with new meetings. There I was sitting in silence for a moment feeling frustrated with my inability to be productive when the phone rang. Immediately, I needed to go find my mother-in-law to tell her the news. I truly believe God cleared my day so I could be available to get that call and find my mother-in-law. I was being guided by Love.
Learning To Let Go
The unexpected losses I have had and the dramatic shifts in family dynamics have forced me more than anything to let go. The way I’ve learned to cope is by spending designated time every day to stay quiet, pray, and connect to my source of strength. It is true that when we are at our weakest, we build our relationship with God. Even though it can be the worst moment of your life, you are being guided by Love.
Centering Around God
Everything I do now in my life centers around connecting more to God’s guidance, trusting my own intuition about where to be next, and being more in the flow of whom to serve and how to serve them. This is being guided by Love. As we celebrate this month of Love I am sending my love to you and my prayer is that you, too, will be guided by Love every day.
Vision is victory,
