We are a country that is just holding our breath. I can feel that in the universe.
Many people are feeling so distracted right now, not knowing how to reel it in.
I’ve become quite adept at staying focused no matter what’s going on around me, regardless of what’s going on in my personal life.
That’s why I want to share some tips about keeping your focus.
Know Your Purpose
You need to be grounded in knowing your purpose in life.
Because I know my mission and I know it’s way bigger than me, no matter what is happening in the world, I still get up and get focused on doing what I’m called to do.
I know that if I don’t carry out my mission, that it’s NOT about me. It affects other people. I want to make an impact, leave a legacy, and help others.
So get to know what your purpose is to ensure you stay on track.
Your Zone of Genius
It’s so important to know what your zone of genius is.
Everybody I’ve coached knows that I say this all the time…I stay in my lane.
I know the one thing that I do best and I don’t try and do everything else that I could do. My lane is the one thing that when I do it, I know it makes an impact, helps people, puts revenue in the bank account, and it’s what lights me up and gives me joy.
I learned a long time ago that even though there are lots of things I can do personally and professionally, it’s not the best use of my time. I’d rather dump it or delegate it to somebody else who does love doing it (and is good at it.)
So I’m able to stay focused by staying in my lane, every day. And because I stay in my lane, I love doing it.
It’s not a chore.
I get up and I enjoy my day.
All The Distractions
So many of us want to get distracted. In this world, we allow all those distractions because we don’t necessarily love what we’re doing or what the alternative is.
We start looking around thinking, ‘what can I do right now that would keep me from doing what I know I’m supposed to be doing or what I really don’t like doing?’
Wouldn’t it be so much easier if we were all just doing the one thing we were sent here to do? The thing that we love to do, that lights us up? And because it lights us up, it impacts and inspires other people!
It’s all about intention. If you know that you matter, that you have a purpose, and that if you follow the purpose that you’re going to make a difference in this world, it’s kind of hard not to do it.
I want to encourage you to spend the first hour of your day getting very grounded in the truth of who you are, what you’re called to do.
Every morning, I read devotions, write in my journal, read something positive, or listen to an audible. And I really set my intention for the day so that I just don’t allow for all the distractions. I know every hour what I’m going to be doing. I’m not winging it.
Unfortunately, many times we get distracted because we get discouraged. We allow things that we had expected to come to fruition and didn’t discourage us, steal our joy, and derail us.
Attitude of Gratitude
The best way to combat that is to adopt a habit of gratitude.
Write down at least five things you are grateful for every day. I promise you it’s going to change your perspective on everything.
And if you’re grateful for those things, you’ll probably want to be grateful every single day. Then you’ll start telling other people and start adding to that list, so you begin eliminating all of the opportunity for yourself to drift and to get caught up in all the negativity in the world – like 98% of the world is tempted to do.
You’ll just start showing up differently. And I know that’s what YOU want, not for yourself but for your families, for your community, your friends, your colleagues.
I know that the common denominator for all of us as humans is that we want to help other people and to have a positive impact.
Vision is victory,
