Just checked out my calendar and was surprised to see October 1, 2019 which means there is just 90 days to the end of the year. So are we all ready for 2020?
If not let me give you a bit of encouragement here. Most often by the last 90 days of the year I have hit my major goals I set at the beginning of the year. “How?” are you asking? Well let me give you a bit of encouragement here.
If you are not consistent to stay on track for those last 90 days, grab the ball and run onto the end zone. Don’t drop the ball. Focus on the goals set in the beginning of the year.
A Light Bulb Moment!
I am somebody who stays super-focused to keep my vision. I stay conscious of each day of the year so I can stay on track. But I have to admit that that I have three things experienced in the past that prepared me for this consistency.
1) I have always kept a clear detailed written on paper copy of my vision plan. If you do not have that today is the day! Write it, plan it, and accomplish it!
2) You have to be in the right tribe. I can’t say this enough. If you are involved with a group who also writes, plans then executes their vision you have support, you’re not alone. Don’t let emotions rule your life, sometimes we need our tribe to let us know it’s all going to be okay.
3) So, what taught me consistency? The real game changer was from my past life, working in advertising. At the office I worked in we designated real hard deadlines, dates we targeted to accomplish projects. Learning to live with target dates helped me to understand the importance to move together as a team to reach an end goal.
After that, I was a stay at home mom. I had family needs that I set as non-negotiable dates. These were target dates I would not change with goals I set for the future of my family.
Lastly, the shifts our lives have taken in the last 5 years, losing both my husband and my son, I have become hyper aware of every moment of every day we have. I breathe in consistency knowing there is a target date to accomplish all I have set out to do.
Run Your Business Like it’s Your Last Day
I know most people who run their businesses think that there is all the time in the world. Reality is far from that. Realize there is a stop, end to everything. Changes always hiding somewhere on the horizon. So some people are saying they are right on track in the last 90 days of the year. And some are wondering where the year has flown and how am I going to reach my goals?
A vision board is good to visualize the goals you set and your personal dreams, I have one too. But calendar target dates are better. I have a reason for everything I’m doing, attached to something outside of me. Don’t wave the white flag yet! How you end this year is how you will start 2020. Add dates to all your goals, remember the magic is the non-negotiables.
Love to hear how all you guys are doing with 2019 and how ready you are for 2020.
